A Personalized Children's Book for Skylar

The name Skylar — Say "Skylar" aloud and notice what happens — there's an openness to it, the way the syllables lift and then settle, like a question answered by looking up. It comes from the Dutch Schuyler, carried over centuries from a name meaning scholar, and somehow that intellectual spirit never quite left it. A Skylar tends to be the girl or boy who asks why before they ask what, the one with a pencil behind their ear and a theory forming in their head. Singer Skylar Grey is among those who've given the name a creative, independent edge in popular culture.

In a personalized book, Skylar lands differently than most names. That built-in sense of sky and space gives every sentence a little extra altitude. Whether your girl or boy is obsessed with rockets, stars, or the kind of magic that explains itself as science, their name fits the adventure like it was always meant to be the title. The scholar in Schuyler never felt this vivid.

A story idea for Skylar — Skylar discovers a crumbling old telescope in a grandparent's attic — and looking through it reveals constellations no map has ever charted. Each star corresponds to a chapter of a hidden library floating somewhere above the clouds. Using their wits and a trail of coded starlight, Skylar must decode each chapter before dawn or the library drifts beyond reach forever.

What the name means — In Dutch, Skylar means "scholar (from Schuyler)." A modern unisex favourite, more common for girls in the US. Famous bearers include Skylar Grey.
