Time Travel — A Personalized Children's Book
A mysterious watch lets your child travel through history — meeting young inventors, ancient kings, and dinosaurs. A whirlwind tour of time that ends with a perfect moment back home.
About the time travel story — Some story ideas work best for a certain kind of kid. Time travel tends to land with boys and girls who ask "but why did that happen?" and then ask it again. The premise here is a pocket watch — not a machine, not a portal — that bends time when the right person holds it. That small, tactile detail matters. It gives your child an object to imagine owning, something that fits in a pocket, something almost plausible.
The story sweeps across three very different moments in history: a dusty Renaissance workshop where a young Leonardo da Vinci is sketching his first ideas, a landscape populated by actual dinosaurs, and a royal court where an ancient king holds the key to a mystery that spans a thousand years. What ties it together is a puzzle your child has to help solve — and the resolution lands them right back home, at the exact moment that matters most. It reads less like a history lesson and more like a chase.
What a time travel book contains — The book opens with a boy named Marcus finding a brass pocket watch engraved with a date 65 million years in the past. In 15 illustrated scenes, Marcus follows the watch's clues through a Cretaceous forest, into Leonardo da Vinci's candlelit workshop, and into the throne room of a medieval king who has been waiting, across time, for exactly this moment. The final scene brings him home, watch still ticking.

Frequently asked questions
The story is built as a chase and a mystery, not a history class. Your daughter encounters historical figures at the beginning of their famous moments — da Vinci before he's famous, a king in the middle of a crisis — so the emphasis is on action and discovery, not dates or facts.
The 15 illustrated scenes are structured so each period gets its own visual world and a clear moment of action. The mystery thread is simple enough that a 6-year-old can follow it, but the pacing gives it enough layers that an 8 or 9-year-old won't feel talked down to. The watch itself serves as a clear throughline.
